Fester Blatz - Space Quest III & 6 (1989 & 1995)
Owner of World o’ Wonders and collector of everyday junk and the occasional gem.
The Two Guys from Andromeda, the creators of Space Quest, are finishing up a Kickstarter for a new adventure game and you should pop by and support them. Not much time left!
- MONKEY WEEK day 3 -
Guybrush Threepwood & Chicken & Grog - The Curse of Monkey Island (1997)
The third game in the series, complete with amazing hand-drawn high resolution art. Without Ron Gilbert at the helm, the real secret of Monkey Island was never to be revealed, but the third game was nonetheless a stellar example of the adventure game genre.
You can buy this on print here.
- MONKEY WEEK day 2 -
Guybrush Threepwood & Zombie Pirate LeChuck - Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge (1991)
Ron Gilbert’s second and last game in the Monkey Island series. Quite possibly my favorite of the series.
This is available on print here.
- MONKEY WEEK day 1 -
Guybrush Threepwood & Ghost Pirate LeChuck - The Secret of Monkey Island (1990)
Ron Gilbert’s first entry in the epic series that is Monkey Island.
This is available on print here.
Sam & Max - Sam & Max Hit The Road (1993)
Absolutely one of my favorite adventure games ever. Simple interface, loads of gags. And some severed heads singing an edutainment song about John Muir. Instant classic!
This is available on print here.
King Arthur & The Black Knight - Conquests of Camelot: The Search for the Grail (1989)
Christy Marx’s epic game, featuring jousting, magic riddle stones and soul points.

Gabriel Knight & Malia - Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers (1993)
The adventures of Gabriel, the Schattenjäger. Written by Jane Jensen, who has a Kickstarter going for a new game she wants to make.
This one’s available as a print here.
Larry Laffer - Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards (1987)
My clearest memory of this game is how I’d played this when I was too young and during dinner I asked the grownups: “Why did Larry’s crotch turn red after he had sex with the stripper?”
You can still be a part of helping Al Lowe, the creator himself, bring Larry back to life, via this Kickstarter.
George Stobbart - Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars (1996)
Revolution Software’s breakout hit. I remember playing this for the first time on a friend’s PlayStation. It was quite hard to control on a gamepad, but the story and characters distracted my young mind from that immediately.
This is available on print at Society6.
Roger Wilco - Space Quest series (1986 - 1995)
I realized that I hadn’t done any of the Quest series. So here’s Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy’s Roger Wilco. This space janitor will always have a place in my heart, if only for the fact that he at one point travels to his own sequel.
Also, hello to all the new followers. Thanks for stopping by.
