Lewton, Death and Death of Rats - Discworld Noir (1999)
I’m sure someone will correct me and tell me that Death of Rats never appears in the game, but screw it.. He’s cute and I like him.
Update Time! Not a regular post, but a commission. Here’s a cover I did for an e-zine called Thrillville Quarterly. It’s about LucasArts and adventure games, so you should go read it!

- MONKEY WEEK day 3 -
Guybrush Threepwood & Chicken & Grog - The Curse of Monkey Island (1997)
The third game in the series, complete with amazing hand-drawn high resolution art. Without Ron Gilbert at the helm, the real secret of Monkey Island was never to be revealed, but the third game was nonetheless a stellar example of the adventure game genre.

The Scythian & Dogfella - Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP (2011)
Superbrothers’ surreal musical adventure game, about log men and mega tomes. Great example of a modern day interpretation of the adventure game genre.
Soon to be available on Steam, as well (today, to be exact).

Josef - Machinarium (2009)
Sweet, little indie adventure game from Amanita Design, the makers of Samorost.
Larry Laffer - Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards (1987)
My clearest memory of this game is how I’d played this when I was too young and during dinner I asked the grownups: “Why did Larry’s crotch turn red after he had sex with the stripper?”
You can still be a part of helping Al Lowe, the creator himself, bring Larry back to life, via this Kickstarter.
George Stobbart - Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars (1996)
Revolution Software’s breakout hit. I remember playing this for the first time on a friend’s PlayStation. It was quite hard to control on a gamepad, but the story and characters distracted my young mind from that immediately.
This is available on print at Society6.
Ignatius, Asgard and Oups - Gobliiins (1991)
The first in a series of weird, puzzle-heavy adventures from Coktel Vision.
Syd, Bernard, Razor & the Edisons - Maniac Mansion (1987)
Save the cheerleader, save the world. This game scared the crap out of me the first time Edna snuck up on me. Crazy old hag..

Roger Wilco - Space Quest series (1986 - 1995)
I realized that I hadn’t done any of the Quest series. So here’s Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy’s Roger Wilco. This space janitor will always have a place in my heart, if only for the fact that he at one point travels to his own sequel.
Also, hello to all the new followers. Thanks for stopping by.

Manny Calavera and Glottis - Grim Fandango (1998)
Absolutely one of my favorite games. The atmosphere, the music, the story. Everything was just amazing.
