George Stobbart - Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars (1996)
Revolution Software’s breakout hit. I remember playing this for the first time on a friend’s PlayStation. It was quite hard to control on a gamepad, but the story and characters distracted my young mind from that immediately.

Manny Calavera and Glottis - Grim Fandango (1998)
Absolutely one of my favorite games. The atmosphere, the music, the story.  Everything was just amazing.

Zak McKracken - Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders (1988)
One of the really old LucasArts adventures.  The opening dream sequence really freaked me out when I was younger.  It still does, kind of.

The Island - Myst (1993)
In retrospect, not my favorite example of the genre.  But still one that I put in loads of hours when I was young.

Bernard, Laverne, Hogie and Purple Tentacle - Day of the Tentacle (1993)
To end this week, another classic from Tim Schafer and Dave Grossman.  This is possibly my favorite game ever and has some of the best game design ever to grace the genre.
